There are now well over 11,000 coaches in 51 countries. As a Coach U Graduate myself, I am proud to be associated with this exemplary coaching school.

Personal Note from Life Coach Mary:
In the fall of 1998, I attended my first International Coach Federation Conference in Scottsdale, Arizona. One of the most valuable breakout sessions I attended was with Laura Berman Fortgang and Cheryl Richardson about “How to Build a Coaching Practice.” It was filled with practical “how-to” strategies which filled me with hope and possibility. Later in the conference I purchased a copy of Laura Berman Fortgang’s first book, Take Yourself to the Top. I ran into her in the hallway and she signed it. The message said something like, “Welcome to Coaching. We need you.” This affirmation gave me the juice to go create a thriving coaching practice.
I’ve since followed Laura as she went on Oprah (the FIRST personal coach to appear!!), spoke on other subjects, published two more books and developed her own coaching school. She is truly a pioneer and leader within the field of coaching. I’m honored to include her in the Conversations with the Masters series.

I was fortunate enough to have Rick Tamlyn as my group leader during the program. It happened to be his FIRST ever “certification group.” His enthusiasm and charisma was contagious. He was casual, bright, witty and very fun. That was almost 9 years ago!!
Since then, I’ve seen Rick Tamlyn shine at ICF Conferences – one after another!! He quickly became one of the all-time favorite emcees. As our leader, guide and comedy relief throughout countless conferences, Rick continues to bring his wit and wisdom to every environment. He’s a great example of someone authentically putting their strengths to work.

I was delighted to be a part of her breakout session in 2005, when she released her first CD, Celebration, Metaphor and Magic. I love how she’s brought so much attention to basking in the win of an accomplishment, before moving on to the “what’s next.”

Personal Note from Life Coach Mary:
I first met Marcia Reynolds through my dear friend Jeanna Gabellini (who used to room with her each year at the ICF Conference). Shortly thereafter, Marcia became president of the International Coach Federation (ICF), and she was VERY visible — and inspiring!! I’ve always respected her leadership, while simultaneously admiring her sense of fun and adventure. Under her leadership as ICF President, the credibility and exposure of coaching in the media soared, as our industry expanded into the limelight!!! Meanwhile, Marcia would take summer-long RV adventures where she’d coach from the road. How inspiring!
In addition, Marcia is a published author, Master Certified Coach and accomplished keynote speaker. I’ve appreciated Marcia’s wisdom and presentations at various breakout sessions at ICF Conferences; learning tons about mastering speaking skills. Later in January, I’ll be attending her private “Developing Your Keynote” workshop in Arizona. I can’t wait!! She’s one of few professionals who hold both the coveted MCC and CSP (Certified Speaking Professional), both of which have rigorous requirements. And, this fall, she can now boast PhD after her name!! This woman is a ball of energy and committed to learning and growth!!! Marcia is an expert on the brain, transforming emotions, high-achieving women, speaking, writing and coaching!! I am honored to know this amazing woman and allow all of you to tap into her wisdom. You won’t want to miss this call!!! Mark your calendar!!
About Marcia:
Marcia Reynolds, MCC, president of Covisioning, has spent 25 years working with a diverse set of organizations including high-tech firms, health care corporations, federal agencies and banks in the areas of leadership development, emotional intelligence, and team building. Her greatest success story came as a result of designing the employee development program for an international company facing bankruptcy. Working with the executive staff, they turned the company around. It became the top IPO in the country in 1993.
Marcia is now a world-renowned coach and past president of the International Coach Federation. Excerpts from her books and interviews have appeared in Fortune Magazine, Health Magazine, Christian Science Monitor and The New York Times, and she has appeared on ABC World News, National Public Radio, and Japan Nightly News.
Her focus in coaching and emotional intelligence grew after teaching management programs for years and seeing most of what she taught forgotten by participants within 48 hours, or sooner when caught in “the heat of the moment.”
When emotions took over, logic lost out. Emotions were never discussed as a part of her studies in Adult Learning Psychology. Yet in studying Daniel Goleman’s Emotional Intelligence, she discovered an element that can either increase or decrease learning retention. Therefore, she now includes principles of emotional intelligence in all her classes, and group or individual coaching following the program. The result.her students report seeing behavioral change and effective results much sooner.

Personal Note from Life Coach Mary:
I first met Leza Danly at my CTI Certification Exam, and knew immediately there was something special about this radiant woman. As part of the exam, we were required to coach an experienced CTI examiner and trainer. I coached Leza. I set aside my intimidation, and fortunately, I did pass the exam to become a CPCC. A few months later, I participated in her teleclass series called Lucid Living. It was the third time she’d lead this program. It was truly exceptional. To this day, I haven’t seen or experienced a spiritual coaching program as comprehensive as Lucid Living. The teleclass series evolved into weekend workshops, and I’m blessed to get glimpses about their evolution through my first coach, Jeanine Mancusi who became Leza’s business partner. I know how profound this work is on people’s lives. I’ve also experienced Leza speak at the ICF Conference on a couple occasions, and have enjoyed her CD’s. Personal Note from Life Coach Mary:
I first met Margaret Krigbaum on a bridge-line, in a Coaching Practicum at Coach U. I was already an MCC and graduate of CTI, but was completing the coursework at Coach U. On the first day, I remember distinctly being challenged by Margaret to drop the “coaching questions” I used most with my clients. What a great way to stretch me!!! Throughout the 8 week period, I watched in admiration as Margaret brilliantly created learning for the entire class. She has a gift for being rigorous and gentle simultaneously. Even after eight years of coaching experience, I personally learned a lot by witnessing Margaret as she coached each coach. She is truly a masterful coach and leader. Many would call her a real “coach’s coach.” I’ve since seen Margaret lead breakout sessions at the ICF Conference, and sees her leadership shine as a ICF Board Member. Her passion for this industry is contagious.

Personal Note from Life Coach Mary:
Henry Kimsey-House is one of my all-time favorite leaders and coaches. He’s simply BRILLIANT and visionary. And, there is something about the way he holds “space and energy” that brings forth authenticity.
I first met Henry when I attended CTI’s year long Leadership Program in 1999. Henry co-lead our group, “The Great Smoking Mirrors” with Elaine Jaynes. Henry was instrumental in helping me see just how much I “protected” myself from others… and inspired me to find comfort in a new level of “vulnerability”. I still remember this moment profoundly. And, that is one work I use to describe Henry — PROFOUND. I have so much respect and admiration for this coaching leader.
About Henry:
Henry Kimsey-House, co-founder of CTI, is the main designer of the coaching course curriculum, including the leadership program. Today, Henry continues to develop and refine the CTI coaching curriculum, leveraging his creative insights and experience as an actor. He is also co-author of the industry best-seller Co-Active Coaching.
An actor since age nine, Henry brings that experience and understanding of human process and development to CTI. His acting career includes appearances in Woody Allen’s movie, “Stardust Memories,” soap operas and regional theatre productions. According to Henry, his acting experience contributed greatly to the creation of Co-Active coaching and to the creation of language in the CTI courses that addresses the core of who we are.
After acting for several years, Henry joined the Actors Information Project (AIP), in New York City, a career counseling service for actors. As vice president of curriculum development, he created a variety of workshops and programs to help new actors succeed in their craft and in the business of acting.
In the 1980s, Henry became one of the first professional coaches, with a specialty in coaching artists and actors. In 1992, he turned his creativity to co-founding and co-designing the curriculum for CTI.
Henry studied acting at Lewis & Clark University, University of Wisconsin (Eau Claire), University of Tennessee (Chattanooga) and in New York City.

Personal Note from Life Coach Mary:
Cynthia Freeman is one of those rare individuals who was “coaching” before anyone coined the term. I have personally known Cynthia for well over a decade through our shared experiences in supporting Tony Robbins’ live events. Cynthia has been a Sr. Trainer for Robbins Research International for 12 years. After moving to southern California and connecting at countless ICF events, we became close friends. While most of my “Masters of Coaching” guests are more visibly known in the coaching community, I wanted Cynthia Freeman as a featured guest for numerous reasons.
First, she is one of the most experienced coaches I know, touting over 17 years of experience working with people and companies in 51 different countries. Secondly, she is an MCC who has created TWO different coaching curriculums for business. She’s also a rarity in earning her MCC without having graduated from an accredited coaching school (which is one of the most challenging ways to earn an MCC). She brings a unique perspective because of her longevity in the industry, and breadth of knowledge in working with individuals and organization on the topics of leadership, sales success, team building, teaching your children about money and more.
During this interview we’ll explore:
* Becoming a Six-Figure Coach.
* The Top Keys for Creating CONSISTENT Results.
* How to “unreasonably” challenge your clients.
* The 7 Faces of Deception and how this gets in the way of our success.
* Savvy Secrets on Coaching Relationships.
* Teaching your children how to earn, spend, save and invest your money.
About Cynthia Freeman:
Over the past 17 years, Cynthia Freeman has developed and delivered results-oriented training and coaching for companies in 51 countries throughout North America, Europe, and Australia . In that time, she has personally coached over two thousand individual clients toward achieving meaningful advancement in all areas of their life. Her expertise encompasses a variety of integrated success strategies in: leadership, relationships, time management, sales game-planning, health and fitness, and organization and life balance.
Cynthia’s expertise is the result of a hands-on career as a thriving real estate agent where she excelled at executing selling game plans that resulted in elite level sales performance. At the same time she successfully juggled the many roles of a single mother. While maintaining an active involvement in her children’s school and extracurricular activities, Cynthia managed to maintain every weekend off and participate in a variety of active, outdoor hobbies. An energetic involvement with colleagues and friends, as well as a desire to communicate with her children, inspired Cynthia to co-author the book, Money Does Grow on Trees .
While sharing the “how” of her sales success with others, Cynthia realized that the how was not nearly as important to success as the “what” people allowed in their lives that stopped them from achieving their goals. As a result, she dedicated herself to studying and researching the latest information on relationships, personalities and male/female differences with a view to their impact on success factors. The result – a powerful seminar series she has delivered to appreciative audiences worldwide. As a result, Cynthia has helped her clients define and create the relationships they desire within their families, organizations and businesses, on teams, in partnerships and even their most intimate personal relationships.
Seeing the need in her coaching for taking marriages and committed partnerships to the next level, Cynthia has recently created the unique Passionate Partner Seminars. These life-changing encounters are far from the typical clinical or academic fare offer today. It is the life-product of personal struggle and triumph in her own marriage relationship and reflects the powerful truths she has learned in her own process of self-discovery. The principles communicated in the Passionate Partner Seminar are also the foundation for Cynthia’s new book on creating and keeping meaningful relationships that is coming soon.
Her trainings in companies and organizations with her expertise in personality differences and distinctions have helped her clients to surpass sales expectations. Participants leave with tools to be in relationship with the world at a new level and an understanding of who they are as well.
In all her coaching engagements, Cynthia inspires her clients to approach life’s challenges “unreasonably” by obtaining what they thought, or were told, was impossible. She is an active, forceful motivator of those seeking to break through the ‘glass ceiling’ and reach extraordinary performance, exciting passionate relationships and rich fulfilling lives.
Cynthia is a graduate of the University of California , Los Angeles with a Masters Degree in Psychology and Movement Therapy. Cynthia is also a senior trainer for Anthony Robbins and an active member of the International Coach Federation and is a Master Certified Coach.
Cynthia is available as an event speaker, for trainings, seminars and individual executive coaching.

Personal Note from Life Coach Mary:
Whenever I’ve heard Julio Olalla’s name, the word “visionary” is typically in the same sentence. I first heard Julio speak at an ICF Conference in 1999, and again this Fall of 2007. Julio is well-known for challenging the thinking of individual coaches, leaders and organizations. More than that he has an uncanny ability to stir the inner being of those listening attentively.
Julio has been coaching since 1982 and is found of Newfield Network, one of the most prestigious coaching schools in the world.
I am incredibly honored to have this distinguished coach as part of our Conversations with the Masters of Coaching series.
Key Quotes from Julio Olalla:
“Life is bigger than our explanations of it. To be in touch with life, go beyond your explanations.”
—The Ritual Side of Coaching
“When you are inspired by some great purpose, some extraordinary project, all your thoughts break their bonds; your mind transcends limitations, your consciousness expands in every direction, and you find yourself in a new, great and wonderful world. Dormant forces, faculties and talents become alive, and you discover yourself to be a greater person by far than you ever dreamed yourself to be.”
—From Knowledge to Wisdom: Essays on the Crisis in Contemporary Learning
“We live and work in a time when we are challenged to question everything we know. Our traditional way of leading, managing and teaching and our traditional interpretations and ways of acting are insufficient to address the concerns we now face. I founded Newfield to meet this challenge and to provide people with greater access to their own talents and creativity. I invite you to join us in conversation.”
About Julio:
Julio Olalla, founder of Newfield, one of the world’s foremost learning companies, and author of From Knowledge to Wisdom: Essays on the Crisis in Contemporary Learning , is regarded as a master at creating environments that establish the trust, safety, respect, fun and well-being that accelerate people’s potential to learn.
Through his work with Newfield and other organizations, he has trained more than 50,000 individuals and worked with more than 300 companies in North America, South America, Europe and Australia.
A powerful keynote speaker, Julio addresses audiences on leadership, organizational learning, education and coaching. He teaches that the traditional and accepted approach of what it is “to know” and “to learn” is insufficient to address the concerns we are facing as a global community. His message compels each individual to consciously evaluate not only the content of what he or she is thinking and learning, but also his or her interpretation of learning and its practice.
Julio and his team of master coaches at Newfield have found that the stress of modern life is global and that most people are looking for guidance in the art of creating more effective action and meaning. Newfield consequently is committed to bringing new, more powerful ways of knowing and learning to individuals and organizations. This mission is based on Julio’s deep work into the ways in which our physical movements, speech and emotions affect our capacity to change and be effective in our personal and professional lives.
With headquarters in North America, South America and Europe, Newfield has a client base that includes Citibank, the CIA, Nike, Chiquita, Verizon, Telecom Argentina, NASA, the World Bank and the AARP.
Julio lives with his family in Boulder, Colorado, though he is a native of Chile and currently is working with the cabinet of Michelle Bachelet, Chile’s first woman president.
