I’m so grateful you’re reading this post! I’ve missed you tremendously. It has been a minute since you’ve heard from me here, although I show up daily on my Facebook Group “Inner Peace in Purpose.” Click here to join. For awhile now, I’ve been bursting at the seams to share where I’ve been and what I’ve been working on behind the scenes. It’s all about up leveling our ability to navigate these tumultuous times with greater ease, and access more delicious inner peace, even when it feels impossible to do so. Don’t we all need this now, more than ever?Everything won’t fit in today’s newsletter, so stay with me in the weeks and months ahead! I promise, it’ll be worthwhile! (BTW, I finally resolved the issue with my list server, affecting 3000 of my 7000 subscribers. So if you haven’t heard from me in a while… that’s one of the big reasons why.)I hope you’ll enjoy being in touch again!
And, as you can see below, my hands have been a little full lately. LOL!
The exercise that shocked me last week…
Last week I completed my annual “End of Year Completion” ritual — something I’ve done every year for over two decades. Yes, it’s already February 2026, but…. I did it! Phew!I started the process in early January and just finished it up last Friday. And honestly, I was shocked. So much of my life lately feels like I’m running in molasses. Between kids, driving a ton, home life, and the quieter season of my work, I often feel like I’m doing far less than I used to. Oy.And things almost, always take longer…
But when I sat down and answered these questions…I realized I accomplished far more than I imagined. That’s the magic of this exercise. It helps us see reality clearly.Reminding us of what we’re capable of. That, even if we feel “behind,” we can and do accomplish A LOT over the course of a year.
And, it’s given me fresh gusto to tackle projects that I didn’t get to last year… like writing to you on the regular. More on visioning in the next newsletter.
I’ve shared these questions for years because they are simple and profoundly powerful. If you’ve been with me awhile, you’ve seen them before. And if you’re new, I’m so glad you get to experience them now. Yes, even in February!
End of Year Completion Ritual
For the last 27 years (holy wow!), I’ve embraced this “end of year completion” ritual as a way to close out the prior year and prepare for the next.If you’ve already done this exercise recently, or something like it, I applaud you. You were a few steps ahead of me. If not, consider setting aside some uninterrupted time to journal your answers to the questions below.I personally like to curl up next to a warm fire, light candles and get comfy, allowing plenty of time to reflect on the year that is now complete.
With 13 year twins, crazy sport schedules, and all the daily demands, it wasn’t that picture perfect scenario. This year, I snagged time at midnight propped up in bed with my 2 year old dog Zuma warming my feet, while my kids and husband were all fast asleep. One of the few quiet times I get each day to scribble on my notepad. Hey, we’ve got to take it whenever we can, right?
I finally finished up this exercise in my office just 7 days ago… and am so glad I did.It was very worthwhile!
No matter where or when you answer these questions, it’s a powerful way to complete and acknowledge your year, and get fired up for 2026. Pull out last year’s calendar to jog your memory if need be.End of Year Completion Questions
1.What are your disappointments, failures, and breakdowns?Let’s acknowledge what these items are….this is an opportunity to let them go, carry them forward, or make a new promise.2.Make a second list titled: Successes, Wins, and Accomplishments. This is a chance to celebrate and own who you have become this year, and your achievements. Where did you step into your power and greatness? Please don’t skimp on these. The little stuff counts. NO modesty allowed. Let’s validate all your accomplishments. Look through your organizer to remind you.3. What have you learned about yourself and your life? What insights have you gained?True insights have the transformational capability of shifting us into a new, more alive place! As we are blessed with insights it is important to nurture and deepen these new understandings.4. What are you grateful for? This list might include some of the above and anything else you truly appreciate about yourself or any other area of your life. There is a basic principle. Whatever you appreciate and give thanks for will increase in your life.(For this question… I like to be REALLY thorough, counting the big and little things I’m truly grateful for. That means don’t limit yourself to ONE page.)5. How will you celebrate and honor your years’ accomplishments? What would be a fun, special thing to do for yourself? That’s it.Now it’s your turn.
The next step is preparing yourself for an amazing “New” Year. Check out my article on New Year Creation: Engaging Your Senses in Your Vision. I’ve leaned on these exercises in years past. This year, my process was a little messier, but effective. And there is an extra twist that I’m super excited to share with you next week!
That’s it for today, even though I have so much more reveal in the weeks to come. Stay tuned!Until the next time…
