Dear Mary: Great job. You look beautiful with the Laguna Beach (looks like it anyway) behind you with the beautiful boganvia (sp?) directly behind you. Wow! You are spunky and helpful. I liked it. What did you record with. Was this a digital camera.

One thing I can suggest is… find a way to have your voice be less mixed with the background noice. It was Ok and I know it could be better with very little effort.

I believe a lavalier mic could be attached to the camera and that would create a better sound without a lot of investment.

    Anyway… great job.

    Blessings, Barb

I LOVE you! You are so open and warm, and I wish you were my personal friend! You’ve got great scenery there, too. I had to watch twice – once for you and once for the sea.

    Thank you for sharing this!

Gorgeous video, Mary! You look terrific and the scenery is stunning. And your energy is wonderful.

I loved the tips! You’re right, things really do start compounding – both good and bad – and we need to be more aware of that (and patient for the good stuff to compound – like losing weight and getting in shape).

    Thanks for this powerful message!

I think you should find somewhere quiet, maybe indoors as the sound of the waves etc is distracting. I love the scenery, perhaps you could edit out the excess noise. I think you need to rehearse what you are going to say a bit more so that it flows easily.

I think the distracting sound is perfect… it makes us have to concentrate on what you are saying. The imperfections in your presentation are equally perfect… letting us know you are real, authentic and being with us from your heart… not from a scripted program.

    Vitra,

I offered this response to another post.

“Yes…one of the most challenging aspects of filming in beautiful and public settings is that most people don’t notice they are adding “noise” to our video.

The noise in this video is a lot like the noise in life. It’s challenging to focus intently on what we want to focus on…especially when there are distractions in our lives.

However, life doesn’t mute out the distractions, and so we must learn to master our ability to be present. Whether we’re listening to a video like the one above, focusing on a work project or wanting to connect with a significant other — this “presence” is essential.

As we focus intently on the words…I find the background noise disappears. I invite you to explore this practice in your own life.

My videos may also offer a good practice playground.”

    Mary
